Geographical location

Ursensollen is in the recent natural farm in Bavaria, in the Natural Park deer forest in the district of Amberg -Sulzbach in the Upper Palatinate region north about ten kilometers west of Amberg.

History

The beginning of the story Ursensollens is closely connected to the noble family von Scharfenberg. This has probably around the year 1000 on the Scharfenberg, about a kilometer south-west of Ursensollen settled. In 1144, this noble family and the place Ursensollen were first mentioned. The village was part of the Electorate of Bavaria and formed a closed Hofmark whose seat was Ursensollen. In the 14th century a country aces Castle in Ursensollen was notarized. 1383 the castle Scharfenberg was demonstrably destroyed. The focus Berger remained resident until about 1550 in Ursensollen. Nine years later there was again a change of ownership, the new owner was Ferdinand of Hötzendorf. 1817 was the new owner Joseph Schenkl. In 1828, a Francis of Hötzendorf, the son was again the previous, known as the owner. His brother Franz Schenkl bought the Hofmark back six years later and ended with him in 1838 the line of the local nobility. The first non- aristocratic owner of the Hofmark was Councillor Jakob Windwarth from Amberg. After the death of the castle's widow sold the 1856 building and land to the brewmaster Mathias Muggenthaler. This set up a brewery, thereby founding the reputation of Ursensollener beer.

Policy
