Usedomer Bäderbahn

The UBB Bahn GmbH (UBB ), based in the seaside resort of Heringsdorf is a 100 percent subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn as well as owners and operators of the railway facilities on the island of Usedom, as well as on the routes Züssow - Wolgast and Velgast -Barth. History

The UBB Railway was founded in 1994 as a 100 percent subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn and has its administrative headquarters in the seaside resort Heringsdorf station in the town of Heringsdorf. On 1 June 1995, the UBB took over the two routes Peenemünde Zinnowitz and Wolgaster ferry - resort Ahlbeck completely by Deutsche Bahn. With the completion of the combined road and rail bridge in Wolgast in 2000, the former branch line of Züssow to Wolgast harbor was also completely taken over, with the Züssow station did not come to UBB, but remained with the Deutsche Bahn.

The routes were and are fundamentally renovated and equipped with new safety technology. The timetable change in December 2002, the operation of the regional trains came on the route Stralsund - Barth and Züssow - Stralsund to the infrastructure of the leg Velgast -Barth (so-called Darßbahn ) was purchased from DB Netz.

Right at the beginning of the operation by the UBB clock traffic was introduced. The main route Wolgaster Ferry Ahlbeck and the branch line Peenemünde Zinnowitz were driven on at every hour. Soon after, a 30-minute clock has been set up in the season for the main line.

The takeover of the mainland route to Züssow the 30- minute cycle was extended to Wolgast main train station, and from there every hour to Züssow. Recently, the UBB could extend their operation. Stralsund -Barth

On the electrified railway line since 1989 Züssow - Wolgast harbor was also dismantled when put into the UBB catenary. The construction works for the extension of the Polish boundary to Swinoujscie ( pl. Świnoujście ) officially began with a ceremony at the border on October 5, 2007. Vermillion - Peenemünde
