Niepars

Niepars is a municipality in the district of Vorpommern - Rügen in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). It is the official seat of the Office of the same name, composed of nine other municipalities.

Geography and transport

Niepars is located about ten kilometers west of Stralsund and 56 kilometers east of Rostock. The railway Rostock- Stralsund and the federal highway 105 pass through the municipality. The airport in Barth is about 20 km away. About 10 km to the north is the Grabow as part of Darß- Zingster Bodden chain. The south of the municipality borders with Obermützkow to the river Barthe. The area boasts some of the places Duvendiek, Martensdorf, Obermützkow and Zansebuhr.

History

For the first time the city in 1282 was mentioned. The town was laid out on schedule in the wake of the German eastward expansion. Established the place was by the local Cistercian monastery, but of which remained only the church. In 1944 Niepars had about 800 inhabitants. After the Second World War, the church took on about 1,000 evacuees, an increase drastically.

The congregation was then until 1952 part of the district Pommern -Barth and belonged then to 1994 to the circle Stralsund in the district of Rostock. Since 1990 Niepars part of the state of Mecklenburg -Vorpommern.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on 2 March 2000 by the Home Office and registered under No. 205 of the coat of arms role of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Blazon: " Azure, with the stems diagonally crossed a silver oak leaf and a pedunculated silver acorn, the crossing is covered by a silver hammer, also between two golden ears of a golden labels, inside the upper left corner a green half- wedge and right below a green rising crescent wedge. "

The coat of arms was designed by the Weimar Michael Zapfe.
