Dreschvitz

Dreschvitz is a municipality in the southwestern district of Vorpommern - Rügen on the island of Rügen in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). The community is managed by the Office West Rügen based in Samtens.

It lies at the Kubitzer Bodden. To Dreschvitz include the districts

The island Liebitz located on the territory of the municipality.

History

The first documentary mention in 1314 was found on an entry of an old deed. Originally a village streets with four large estates Dreschvitz was only three kilometers away from the old so-called salt road.

The place was until 1326 part of the Principality of Rügen and then the Duchy of Pomerania.

With the Peace of Westphalia of 1648 became Rügen and thus also the place Dreschvitz under Swedish rule after the place previously belonged to the Duchy of Pomerania. In 1815 the church and Pomerania came to the Prussian province of Pomerania.

Since 1818 Dreschvitz belonged to the circle or district Rügen. Only in the years 1952 to 1955 it was the county Putbus belonging. The village belonged until 1990 to Rügen county in the district of Rostock and in the same year part of Mecklenburg- Vorpommern. The 1990 re- designated as the Rügen was 2011 in the district of Vorpommern - Rügen.

By closing gaps between buildings and development of building land Dreschvitz, contrary to the trend recorded a population increase since 1990. In and near the " House of Generations ", a community center, a variety of events to be performed.

Policy

Municipal council

In the last local elections on 7 June 2009 Olaf Braumann (FDP) was re-elected with 62 % for mayor. In the municipal council are nine community representatives with the mayor.

The municipal council is composed as follows:

  • FDP with Mayor - five seats
  • CDU - two seats
  • The citizens will - two seats

Coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on 30 March 2010 by the Home Office and registered under the number 331 in the coat of arms role in the country.

In 1989 a coat of arms was created for Dreschvitz at the 675- year celebration and brought flags and postcards in circulation. However, it has failed to properly register the coat of arms. After that it's been forgotten. With the rediscovery of the documents, it was found that this coat of arms is now out in identical manner by a municipality in Schleswig -Holstein. After a processing and application for approval the coat of arms was presented on 24 April 2010 in a ceremony by the Minister of the Interior of the State of Mecklenburg- Vorpommern.

The two green oak branches should refer to the forestry and the long hunting tradition in the community. Separated by a so-called blue wave beam, which is at the Bodden coast Priebowsche Wedde for the situation of local Dreschvitz, in the lower box plow is shown. This symbolizes the intensive agricultural use of the members of the community fields.

The coat of arms was designed by the designer Jürgen Frenkel from Dreschvitz.

Flag

The flag is divided longitudinally from White - Blue - Yellow; the wavy blue stripes takes one seventh, the white and yellow stripes take a three -seventh of the height of the flag cloth. In the middle of the white stripe there are two obliquely left- green oak branches with three leaves and a green acorn next to each other in the middle of the yellow stripe a wheelless black plow. The height of the flag cloth is related to the length as 3:5.

Economy and infrastructure

The community is dominated by agriculture.

In the district Güttin is the only airport on the island of Rügen. In addition to smaller scheduled flights to the season here are also scenic flights over Rügen booking. Every year on the second weekend in July held the resident club flyer flight days.

The scale as paths Church Village Church Landow in the town district is probably the oldest half-timbered church in the entire southeastern Baltic region. The oak timbered constructions comes from Baumfällungen from 1312 or 1313. The original church was walled to 1546. The church is supported by a development association. In her find numerous events, including concerts instead of the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
