History

The first mention we find room in a document the city of Barth from 1255. Already existed at that time an abandoned Slavic fortress at the mouth of the creek Saaler in today Saal Bodden. In the castle complex is likely to be the Stekeborg or Stekenborg. In all the times when the castle was in use, had the Bodden still free access to the Baltic Sea. The situation, however hidden as designed with the ability to monitor the wide lagoon area was strategically valuable.

The people sat down to 1255 from eingessenen Slavs who immigrated Westphalia and Danes together. The first church was at that time already, but was consecrated entirely of wood and the "Holy Cross".

In the 13th century, was named after the place Bailiwick "Sale" one of the twelve bailiwicks of the Prince of Rügen. Hall was the seat of the bailiff and thus administrative center, market place, place of jurisdiction of the province, were among the twelve other villages. Later hall lost its importance and Barth and Damgarten took over this role. After 1326 it belonged to the Duchy of Pomerania.

After the Thirty Years War to the year 1815, the area belonged to Swedish Pomerania and then to the Prussian province of Pomerania.

The congregation was then until 1952 part of the district Pommern -Barth and belonged then to 1994 to the circle Ribnitz Damgarten in the district of Rostock. Since 1990, Hall is part of the state of Mecklenburg -Vorpommern.

On January 1, 2014, the municipality Bartelshagen II was b. Barth with its districts Bartelshagen II, Hermann Hagen Heath, Hermannshof and Neuhof incorporated to hall.
