Neu Bartelshagen

New Bartelshagen is a municipality west of Stralsund in the district of Vorpommern - Rügen. The community is managed by the Office Niepars based in the community Niepars.

Geography and transport

The municipality borders on the southern bank of the Grabow, a part of the Darß- Zingster Bodden chain. About nine kilometers west of the municipality is the town of Barth and about 20 kilometers east of the city of Stralsund.

History

After belonging to the Principality of Rügen New Bartelshagen fell in 1326 to the Duchy of Pomerania.

After the Thirty Years War to the year 1815, the area belonged to Swedish Pomerania and then to the Prussian province of Pomerania.

The congregation was then until 1952 part of the district Pommern -Barth and belonged then to 1994 to the circle Stralsund in the district of Rostock. Since 1990, New Bartelshagen part of the state of Mecklenburg -Vorpommern.
