Dettmannsdorf

Dettmannsdorf is a municipality in Mecklenburg part of the district Vorpommern - Rügen. It is located southwest of Ribnitz Damgarten at the Valley of Recknitz. Until 1 January 1999, the village belonged to the Official Bad brawn and now part of the Office Recknitz - Trebeltal.

Geography and transport

Dettmannsdorf located about 25 kilometers east of the Hanseatic city of Rostock and approximately nine kilometers west of Bad aspic. The south of the municipality extending federal highway 20 is accessible via the Tribsees, Sanitz and Ticino connection.

Larger community lands are forested, mention here is the forest area Dettmann villages deserted village in the west of the municipality. In the south the city borders on the Recknitz, in the municipality there are no major lakes. To the northwest is the Dammerstorfer Moor and to the south the nature reserve Maibachtal.

The municipality consists of the villages Dettmannsdorf, Dudendorf, Wöpkendorf, Kölzow, Dammerstorf, Dettmannsdorf - Kölzow and Kucksdorf.

History

Kölzow was first mentioned in documents in 1233. The church is a bit older and is therefore likely to belong to the oldest churches in Northern Germany.

The community was until 1952 part of the Office of Rostock and was thereafter until 1994 Circle Ribnitz Damgarten in the district of Rostock.

Since 1 January 2001 Dudendorf belongs to the municipality Dettmannsdorf.

Attractions

  • Kölzow village church, built in 1205 as a stone church; the pastor and emigrants Adolf Fuchs worked during the pre-March period at this church.
  • Kölzow Castle: Built in 1850 by the family of Prollius in place of older Gutsbauten the family of the Liihe. 1925, it was the summer residence of Prince Friedrich Sigismund of Prussia and remained until 1945 in the possession of the family. 2000, the family bought from the Liihe the property and restored the castle.
  • The Kucksdorfer castle is a Slavic refuge ( hillfort ) on the Recknitz on the border with Redderstorf.
  • Manor House in Dudendorf: Built in 1850 in Neo-Gothic Tudor style, it is now privately owned and used as a farm.
