Fuhlendorf

Fuhlendorf is a municipality in the west of the district of Vorpommern - Rügen. It is located west of Stralsund. Until 1 January 2005, she was part of the Office Barth country and has since been part of the Office Barth.

Geography and transport

Fuhlendorf is located about ten kilometers west of Barth. The municipality is located on the coupling current and the Reedensee, a separate portion of the Bodstedter Bodden.

History

Fuhlendorf was first mentioned in 1278. In the deed the Rüganer Prince Wizlaw II confirmed the sale of the village. Since the year 1326 belonged to the Duchy of Pomerania Fuhlendorf then. Michael village is first mentioned in 1302. The district Bodstedt was in 1500 one of the most important places of pilgrimage for sailors on the Baltic Sea. In GDR times, built 1965, the VEB " Altmark Stendal Baukombinat " ( BKA) a summer camp for his company employees. The German Post has acquired it in 1975. After 1990, it was left to decay.
