The Office Barth is located in the district of Vorpommern - Rügen in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). In office Barth, the ten municipalities Bartelshagen II b. Barth, Divitz - Spoldershagen, Fuhlendorf, Karnin, Kenz - Küstrow, Löbnitz, Lüdershagen, Pruchten, hall and Trinwillershagen as well as the town of Barth joined forces to do their administrative business. The administrative headquarters is located in the town of Barth. On 1 January 2005 created through the merger of the Office Barth country and the city of Barth, as well as the community Trinwillershagen the new post Barth.
The office area extends south of the Barth Bodden in the hinterland of the peninsula Zingst Darss and fish country. The north and west of the Office is adjacent to the Barth Bodden and Bodden Saaler, the eastern borders with the Office Niepars and the south borders the offices Franzburg- Richtenberg and Ribnitz Damgarten. In the municipality there are no larger lakes, but large parts of the Office are located at the Bodden waters. The river Barthe flows through the municipal area and flows Barth in Barth Bodden. The northern part of the Office of the Bodden coast is part of the National Park Boddenlandscape. Notable elevations are in the office not because the office is almost exclusively in the lowland of Barthetales and Bodden hinterland. Only Lüdershagen some hills reach the twenty meter mark.
Economically plays only the agriculture and fisheries sector a certain role and tourism also has its importance. In Barth is also a shipyard. On 1 January 2014, the formerly independent municipality Bartelshagen II b. Barth incorporated into the parish hall.
