The Office is located in the district of Vorpommern - Miltzow Rügen in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). In office Miltzow the communities Behnke village, Brandshagen, Horst, Kirchdorf, Miltzow, Reinberg and Wilmshagen had originally joined forces to fulfill their administrative business. Since 1 January 2004, the municipalities Elmenhorst and Witten Hagen pertain to the office. With the exception of Elmenhorst and Witten Hagen joined on June 7, 2009, all municipalities of the Office to the new community Sundhagen together. Thus, there is the Office nor from 3 communities, the administrative office is located in the district of Sundhagener Miltzow.

The office area stretches south-west and south of the Hanseatic city of Stralsund. The north is bordered to the Office Niepars and the city of Stralsund, the West is adjacent to the office Franzburg- Richtenberg and the south borders the municipality Süderholz, to the city of Pomerania and the District of Vorpommern - Greifswald. In the east, bordering a part of the Office of the Stralsund and Greifswald Bay. In the municipality there are no major lakes and rivers. Also significant elevations there is not in office.

Economically play only the industrial areas near Stralsund a minor role and tourism also has no great significance. The new B96 hopes to further boost the region. Furthermore, through the Office Miltzow the B 194 and B 105 South of Office runs the federal highway 20
