Uttlesford

Uttlesford is a District in the county of Essex in England. The council is based in Saffron Walden; significant sights are Felsted, Flitch Green, Great Dunmow, Stebbing, Stansted Mountfitchet and Thaxted.

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the borough of Saffron Walden and Dunmow Rural District and Saffron Walden. 2001, a survey of the Sunday Times newspaper that Uttlesford is the region with the highest quality of life in England. A major employer is the airport London Stansted.
