Väätsa Parish

Väätsa ( German: Waetz ) is a rural municipality in the Estonian county Järva with an area of 195 km ². It has 1487 inhabitants ( 2010).

Väätsa was first documentary mentioned in 1564. Written sources mention from 1639 by a manor house. The present mansion dates from the first half of the 19th century. It was built in the early classical style. It houses a school since 1925.

For the rural community Väätsa include the eleven villages Aasuvälja, Loola, Piiumetsa, Reopalu, Roovere, Röa, Saueaugu, Ülejõe Vissuvere, Väätsa and Väljataguse.
