Valerio Olgiati

Valerio Olgiati ( born July 18, 1958 in Chur) is an internationally active Swiss architect.

Life

Valerio Olgiati was born in 1958 as son of the Grisons architect Rudolf Olgiati and studied from 1980 to 1986 architecture at the ETH Zurich. From 1993 to 1995, he led, together with Frank Escher an architectural firm in Los Angeles in 1996 and opened an office in Zurich, who moved to Flims 2008. 1998-2000 he was a visiting lecturer at the ETH Zurich and 2002 at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, and in 2005 a visiting professor at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Since 2002, Valerio Olgiati full professor at the Università della Svizzera italiana in Mendrisio. In the fall of 2009, he leads the Kenzo Tange Chair at Harvard University, Cambridge, USA.
