Vasily Rudenkov

Vasily Vasilyevich Rudenkow (Russian Василий Васильевич Руденков, Vasilii Vasil'evič Rudenkov; May 3, 1931 in Zhlobin; † 2 November 1982) was a former Belarusian hammer thrower, who competed for the Soviet Union.

Rudenkow grew up in the Gomel region. Impressed by the achievements of the Belarusian hammer thrower Mikhail Kriwonosow he began at the age of 20 years with the hammer throw. In 1957 he went to Moscow to train more intensively. Wages of labor were three Soviet championships in a row, 1959-1960, and as the biggest success of winning the gold medal at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome.
