Velký Ořechov

Velky Ořechov ( German United Orzechau, 1939-1945 Großnußdorf ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers west of Luhačovice and belongs to Okres Zlín.

Geography

Velky Ořechov is located in the southwest of Vizovice mountain country. The village is situated on the southwestern slope of the hill Za Dvorem (410 m) above the valley of the brook Částkovský creek. To the east of the town rises the Holomňa. To the north rises the Doubí ( 429 m) and in the northeast of Za Dvorem (410 m).

Neighboring towns are Doubí, Doubravy and Krasnovy in the north, Hrivinuv Újezd ​​in the northeast, Ludkovice and Kaňovice in the east, Seče and Biskupice the southeast, Dobrkovice in the south, Pašovice the southwest, hacky, Částkov, Kelníky and Svárov in the west and Paseky and Zlámanec in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village Orechouem took place in 1141 in a document of the Olomouc Bishop Heinrich Zdík as a spiritual possession. From 1872, the place was called Velky Ořechov / Orzechau. During the German occupation of the venue became Germanized name Großnußdorf. 1949, the village was assigned to the Okres Zlín. From 1950 the congregation to Okres Gottwaldov - okolí and from 1960 was again Okres Gottwaldov, the back bears the name Okres Zlín after the political changes since 1990.
