Vělopolí

Vělopolí (Polish Wielopole, German Wielopoli ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers south-west of Český Těšín and belongs to Okres Frýdek- Místek.

Geography

The scattered settlement Vělopolí is located on a ridge at the headwaters of the creek Vělopolka between the rivers Ropičanka and Stonávka in Beskidenvorland. To the north runs the highway R 48 / E 462

Neighboring towns are Běrnoutí and Horni Žukov in the north, Dolni Žukov and Kozačinec in the northeast, Ropice in the east, Konska and Nebory the southeast, Střítež and Hnojník in the south, Vyrubané and Horni Tošanovice the southwest, Horni Třanovice and Hurka in the west and Třanovice in the northwest.

History

Was first mentioned in writing in 1448 as the village owned by the Matous of Vělopolí. From 1545 Pelhřim of Třánkovice ( Pelchrzim of Trzankowitz ) owned the place. Between 1608 and 1629 the village belonged Erasmus Rucky of Rudz, he was followed by the Mitrovský of Nemyšl and Adam Bees of Chrostin. The latter sold the estate in 1665 Vělopolí Kaspar Tluck of Toschonowitz. From his widow it was purchased in 1671 by Gottfried Logau Altenberg and joined it to the manorial Střítež. 1792 acquired the chamber together with Cieszyn Střítež also Vělopolí. Residents of the village lived by agriculture. West of the village gravel was broken at Gurka.

After the abolition of patrimonial Wielopoly formed in 1850 a municipality in the district of Teschen. From 1920, the village belonged to the district Český Těšín. In 1938, he came as part of the Olsagebiets to Poland. From 1939 to 1945 Wielopole belonged to the district of Teschen and came back after the war with Czechoslovakia. after the dissolution of Okres Český Těšín the community in 1961 associated with the Okres Frýdek- Místek. In 1980 Vělopolí was incorporated into Hnojník, since 1990, the commune is again. In Vělopolí lives a Polish minority residing about 19 % of the population.
