Ville Koistinen (2012 )
Ville Koistinen ( born June 17, 1982 in Oulu) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player on the position of the defender, who has a contract with HC Davos in the National League A since May 2013.
Career
Ville Koistinen played from 2000 to 2006 at the Finnish hockey club Ilves Tampere, before he was taken in the summer of 2006 as ungedrafteter players from the Nashville Predators of the NHL for two years under contract. They put him in the season 2006/ 07, first with the Milwaukee Admirals in the AHL, where he came on nine goals and 34 assists in 63 games. Thanks to this strong performance, he stood for the first time in the 2007/ 08 season in the squad of Predators. In his first NHL season for the Predators, he came in 48 games on four goals and 13 assists.
In summer 2009, Koistinen signed a two-year contract with the Florida Panthers, but came in the following season only 17 appearances in the NHL. In response, the Panthers bought in the summer of 2010 out of the contract and Koistinen was initially unemployed. In November of the same year he was with the Skellefteå AIK of the Elitserien a new club. In May 2011, the Finn was awarded a contract with Ilves Tampere. End of December 2011, he joined the rest of the 2011/12 season Salavat Yulaev Ufa of the Kontinental Hockey League, but returned after the season back to Ilves. In native Finland but they took him only one season, the season 2013/2014 he joined the Swiss record champions HC Davos in the National League A, where he signed a one year contract.
