Vincenzo Picardi

Vincenzo Picardi ( born October 20, 1983 in Casoria in Naples ) is an Italian boxer. Picardi was bronze medalist of the 2007 World Championships, the 2008 Olympic Games and the European Championships in 2010 and 2011.

Career

Vincenzo Picardi began as a teenager at the sports club SS " Nino Ferrari " Casoria with the boxes. His first coach was his father Antonio. With diligence and perseverance he pushed slowly flyweight in the Italian top class inside. After the first major successes had set, he joined the prestigious Sports Club GS " Fiamme di Oro ", where Giulio Coletta and Michele Caldarella his coaches were.

The 1.65 m tall athlete was 2003 Italian junior champion bantamweight and for the first time Italian champion in the senior flyweight (up to 51 kg body weight). 2004, 2006 and 2007, he repeated this success, as he was eliminated in the semifinals in 2005 with one defeat against Alex Ferramosca that finished 3rd place.

His international debut was Vincenzo Picardi at the 2005 Mediterranean Games in Almeria. He lost there flyweight in the quarterfinals against Walid Cherif of Tunisia extremely scarce with 27:29 points. World Series of Boxing

Season 2010/2011

Since the first season Picardi fights for Milano Thunder in World Series of Boxing (WSB). In the season 2010/2011 he played four fights of which he won three. Inter alia he suggested doing the Irishman John Joe Nevin. Milano Thunder, however, did not reach the playoffs this season.

Season 2011/2012

During the group stage Picardi came in the 2011/2012 season only once for use and won against the representatives of the Astana Arlans. Milano Thunder this time reached the playoffs and won Picardi at quarter-final home win Milano Thunders against the defending champions Paris United v Samir Brahimi.
