Wital Mikalayevich Kowal (White Russian Віталь Мікалаевіч Коваль, Russian Виталий Николаевич Коваль / Vitaly Nikolayevich Kowal; born March 31, 1980 in Perm, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian- Belarusian professional ice hockey goaltender, who since July 2011 Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in the Kontinental Hockey League under contract.

Career

Wital Kowal began his career as a hockey player at youth level Molot Perm - Prikamye, for the first team, he made his debut in the Russian Super League in the 2000 /01 season. The majority of the playing time he spent, however, in the second-class league Wysschaja at Neftjanik Leninogorsk. In the 2003 / 04 season, the goalkeeper reached Perm direct promotion back to the Super League after relegation last year, spent most of the time, however, the league rivals motor Barnaul. The following year he was also a time for the HK Liepaja Metalurgs in the Latvian Hockey League between the posts.

In summer 2005, Kowal returned to his homeland, where he received a contract with HK Neman Grodno. After three years in the Extraliga, he was obliged by HC Dinamo Minsk of the newly formed Continental Hockey League prior to the 2008/ 09 season, for whom he played until 2010. In the summer of 2010, he continued to train with the team, but did not get a new contract. In 2010 he was engaged by Atlant Mytischtschi with which Kowal the final series reached at the Gagarin Cup in season 2010/11. In early July 2011, he was taken from Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod under contract.

Internationally

With Belarus Kowal participated in the World Championships in 2008, 2009 and 2010 and the Winter Olympics, 2010.
