Vojens

Vojens municipality ( German: municipality Woyens ) was a municipality in Jutland Office ( Northern Schleswig ) in southwest Denmark.

The area- wide municipality was created in 1970 by the merger of the municipalities Hammelev ( German: Hammeleff ) Jegerup ( German: Jägerup ) Maugstrup ( German: Magstrup ) Nustrup ( German: Nübel ) Oksenvad ( German: Oxenwatt ) Skrydstrup, Sommersted ( German: Sommerstedt ) Vedsted ( German: Wittstedt ) and in 1920 separated from Jegerup Vojens ( German: Woyens ). Together with the local Gram and Haderslev ( German: Hadersleben ) as well as the communities Bevtoft ( German: Beftoft ) Hjerndrup, Bjerning and Fjelstrup went Vojens the municipality on 1 January 2007 in the new large municipality Haderslev with about 60,000 inhabitants on.

Attractions

South of Vojens and north of Over Jerstal are the megaliths of Over Jerstal. There are two passage graves and dolmens two.

Traffic

Vojens lies on the railway line Fredericia -Flensburg, the former branch line to Haderslev had been set in 2004 and is traversed since 2011 again from museum trains.
