Vorderthal

Front Thal is a municipality in the district of the canton of Schwyz March in Switzerland.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms of front valley is a key and a sword dar. These symbols represent the two Saints Peter and Paul, the patron saints of the church.

Geography

Front valley lies at the foot of the Great Aubrig at the starting point of the Satteleggpasses. The town's confines to 602 m above sea level. M. and extends up to 1695 m at the Aubrig. History

The first settlement in Wägital is detectable around the year 406. The rule of the County Alt -Rapperswil over the Wägital lasted until 1350. Both communities Vorderthal and Innerthal have separated 1776. The parish followed this step in 1816. Since 1999 she has reconnected with that of Innerthal in the Roman Catholic parish Wägital.
