Büelisacker (Swiss German: ʋɑltiʃʋi ˌ ː l) is a municipality in the district of Muri in the canton of Aargau. It lies in the middle Bünztal.

Geography

The village Büelisacker is on the eastern side of Bünztal valley at the foot of Buneggli. This moraine hills extends up to 25 meters above the otherwise totally flat plane and goes toward the east over the Wagenrain, a range of hills which forms the natural border with the Reuss valley. The moraine hills accumulated after the end of the Ice Age, a shallow lake, which silted up in the course of the centuries into a bog; the marsh was drained in the early 20th century. The Bünz is channeled over their entire lengths and flows to the northwest. Around one and a half kilometers west of Büelisacker lies the much smaller village street Büelisacher. There, at the western edge of the plain, the land rises steeply to the foothills of the Lindenberg.

The area of the municipality is 454 hectares, of which 95 hectares are forested and built over 103 hectares. The highest point is located on 554 meters on the hillside at Büelisacher, the deepest at 422 meters at the Bünz.

Neighboring municipalities are Wohlen in the north, Bremgarten in the northeast, Bünzen to the southeast, and Boswil Kallern in the south and Büttikon in the West.

History

From prehistoric period are traces of settlement of the Celts. From about 70 to 330 AD was at Büelisacher a Roman villa, whose Badetrakt was discovered and excavated in 1862. In the 7th or 8th century Alemannic settlement arose. The Lords of Büelisacker, a Ministerialengeschlecht of the Habsburgs, built around the year 1000 a residential tower at the foot of the Lindenberg. They died from before the foundation of the old Swiss Confederation; Nothing remains of the tower.

The village Waltiswil was first mentioned in the year 1085th The village name comes from the Old High German Waltineswilari and means " farm estate of Waltin ". After the conquest of the Aargau by the Confederates in 1415 the village was in office Hermetschwil in the Commons rule of outdoor offices, Büelisacher however, was in office Boswil. The largest part of the property and the associated rights came in 1471 in the possession of the monastery Muri. 1601 a fire destroyed over 30 houses.

In March 1798, the French conquered Switzerland and proclaimed the Helvetic Republic. Büelisacker and Büelisacher were united against the will of its inhabitants. The new church was in the district of the short-lived Sarmenstorf canton Baden. Along with forest houses they formed a Agent shaft; since 1803 it belongs to the canton of Aargau. However, it took some time until the inhabitants of both villages tolerated. So Büelisacher 1825 led a strike by tax.

On June 1, 1875 Büelisacker was a station on the southern railway. This, however, was the end of May 1997, closed again, as it was a bit off and had to low frequencies. Agriculture lost its dominant position from an early age, as many residents found work in the industry of the neighboring community Wohlen. Until the mid- 1960s, the population stagnated at just under 700 was followed by a significant growth, interrupted only briefly during the economic crisis of the 1970s. Within 40 years the population increased by more than threefold.

Attractions

For centuries belonged to the parish Büelisacker Boswil and was raised only in 1800 into an independent parish. First, built in 1516 and 1788/89 Advanced Nicholas chapel served as a parish church. Between 1837 and 1839 the new parish church of St. Nicholas was born. The municipality had a baroque preferred, but the cantonal building committee established a church hall by the classical style. Coat of arms

The blazon of the municipal coat of arms is: " In increasing blue yellow half-moon, accompanied by a right, to the left of three five-pointed white stars pale as asked. » The coat of arms is derived from that of the lords of Büelisacker, which was first shown in 1548; the former chronicler, however, had simply taken the crest of Boswil. Politics and Law

The Assembly of the voters, the municipal assembly, shall exercise the legislative power. Executive authority is the five-member council. Between Büelisacker and Büelisacher the busy Main road 25 ( Lenzburg - train ). Through the village runs the postal bus Wohlensee Muri, in Rottenschwil there are connections to Zurich - Wiedikon.

Education

In Büelisacker there is a kindergarten and a primary school. All upper level of compulsory elementary school ( junior high school, middle school, school district ) are located in Wohlen, as the district school (Gymnasium).
