Wang Chen (table tennis)

Wang Chen ( born January 17, 1974 in Beijing ) is a former Chinese and now American table tennis player who has been with the Chinese team's Asian champion and world champion.

Career in China

With seven years, Wang Chen first came into contact with table tennis and joined a club at. Due to her talent she two years later left school and went to a sports boarding school. As an eleven year old it belonged to the Junior National Team. In 1989 she won at the Asian Junior Championships title with the team in doubles with Wu Na she reached the final.

In 1992, she first participated at the Asian Championships for adults and came in individual semi-finals. In her second participation in 1996 she won three medals: silver in singles and doubles ( with Wu Na ), gold with the Chinese team. She was twice nominated for participation in the World Championships. In 1995, she won the individual bronze, 1997, she was with the Chinese team world champion. At the World Cup in 1996, she came in third place.

In the ITTF World Ranking Wang Chen took the end of 1997 in fourth place.

When she was not considered in 1996 for the Summer Olympic Games and also participate in 2000 seemed unlikely, she retired in 1998 from the Chinese national team back and abruptly ended her international career .. now played at a number of European clubs, and moved in 2000 to her sister in the United States after New jersey.

Time in the United States
