Wartmannsroth is located in the Main- Rhön.

History

As an Office of the High pin Fulda in favor of Archduke Ferdinand of Orange secularized in 1803, it fell in 1806 as part of the province de Fulde to France ( from 1810 a department of the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt of the Prince Primate von Dalberg ) and was awarded at the 1815 Congress of Vienna Austria. Since the Munich agreement in 1816 the place belonged to Bavaria.

Incorporations

The unit community Wartmannsroth was supported by the government of Lower Franconia, effective May 1, in 1978 the formerly independent communities Dittlofsroda, Schwärzelbach (having Neuwirthaus ) Waizenbach, Wartmannsroth ( with Völkersleier and Holy Cross ) and Windsheim. Völkersleier and Holy Cross were incorporated on 1 January and 1 July 1972 in the community Wartmannsroth.

Religions

The Catholics in the large village belonging to the parishes of St. Mauritius Schwärzelbach, St. Giles Windsheim or St. Andrew Wartmannsroth branch with St. Sebastian in Völkersleier the Deanery mutton castle in the diocese of Würzburg. The Protestant church Dittlofsroda with churches in Dittlofsroda, Waizenbach and Völkersleier, and which belongs to the parish Weissbach Protestant church in Holy Cross are in the Dean's Office Lohr of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria. Waizenbach was 1827-1929 Evangelical Lutheran Deanery seat.

Both in the district Dittlofsroda ( there to Schondratal 2-8) as well as in the district Völkersleier ( there in the street Glad 4) were for the Jewish population synagogues were desecrated or destroyed during the pogrom of November 1938 by SA men. Plaques recall this happening.

Mayor is Jürgen Karle. It was in 2008 Successor of Herbert Kohlhepp year. His deputies are Edgar and Kurt Lutz Selbert.

Coat of arms

Blazon: Split; front in silver a floating black Tatzenkreuz, divided back of silver and blue; above in red bar three -curved golden piles, below an occupied with three blue rings silver oblique beams.

Coat of Arms History: The municipality Wartmannsroth was created in 1978 by merging the formerly independent communities Dittlofsroda, Schwärzelbach, Völkersleier, Waizenbach, Wartmannsroth and Windsheim. The churches held in front of their own coat of arms, which are set by the reconstitution of the church today. Only the crest of Völkersleier was preserved and is now the emblem of the new community Wartmannsroth. The reason for this decision was the realization that the coat of arms symbols speak for the entire new community. The whole municipal area historically belonged to the principality ( Bishopric ) Fulda, for which the emblem is the black fuldische cross. The rear half contains crest above the root of Arms of Baron von Thiingen possessed in the Middle Ages a large estate in the municipality. Below is the coat of arms of the Prince-Bishop of Würzburg, Julius Real Mespelbrunn, who gave the Julius Hospital in Würzburg that bears his name, a large part of the municipal district of Völkersleier. The coat of arms was granted by the government of Lower Franconia on 15 February 1979.

Culture and sights

Structures

Most important ecclesiastical building in the municipality is the Catholic parish church of St. Giles in Windsheim. The Baroque church with Einturmfassade was built in 1765-1767 by Johann Christoph kindling.

The most important secular building is the former moated castle in Waizenbach. It was built in 1570 in Renaissance style and was the seat of a Protestant nobles ladies pin. The burnt during the Second World War the castle was subsequently restored waiving the high Baroque tower helmets. The pen itself is formally still under administration of the Barons Steward to Wetzhausen.

Economy and infrastructure

Official Statistics

It was in 1998 according to official statistics in the field of Agriculture and Forestry 5, 174 in manufacturing and in trade and transport 56 persons work at the workplace.
