Fuchsstadt

Fuchsstadt is a municipality in the district of Bad Kissingen, Lower Franconia, and a member of the administrative community Elfershausen.

Geography

Fuchs city lies in the valley of the Franconian Saale, which is surrounded by the foothills of the Bavarian Rhön. From Kohlberg chapel, near which rare silver thistles and Pasque grow, one has a view of the place, the Saale valley, castle Saaleck, mutton castle and its vineyards, the earth station of the company Intelsat and the Sodenberg the highest elevation. A forest trail leads through the fox urbanites ( in dialect: Fuschter ) forest and shows the variety of local flora and fauna. It is close to many attractions, such as the Trimburg, Saaleck Castle, ruins Botenlauben. Also the Kreuzberg in the Rhön and the famous cities of Würzburg, Schweinfurt and Bad Kissingen are not far away.

History

The former Office of the Prince-Bishopric of Würzburg, which belonged to the Frankish Empire Circle, was ceded to the secularisation of 1803 in Bavaria's favor in 1805, Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany to form the Grand Duchy of Würzburg and fell with this 1814 final at Bayern. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.

Coat of arms

Blazon: In red two silver bars, placed a gold and red alternately split fox.

Coat of Arms History: The fox in the crest is speaking for the community name. The two silver bars in Red are the arms of the Lords of extinct Fuchsstadt taken that were well off, at least since the mid-13th century in the municipality. This local noble family was invested with the fuldischen possessions in the municipality. The prince pin Fulda is in Fuchsstadt since 907. The coat of arms was granted by the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior on 13 August 1959.

Economy and infrastructure

The most striking economic institution in Fuchsstadt is probably the earth station Fuchsstadt, which is now owned by the company Intelsat. Especially the two class A antennas with 32 meters in diameter are almost something like the symbol of Fuchsstadt.

Economy, agriculture and forestry
