Wey (state)

The state Wey (Chinese卫/卫, Pinyin white or卫国/卫国, Weiguo ) was an ancient state within the Zhou Dynasty. The family name of the ruling family of Wey was Ji (姬). At the beginning of the Zhou Dynasty King Wu enfeoffed (武王) his younger brother Kang Shu (康叔) with it. The state was located in the northeast of present-day Henan province in the area of Puyang (濮阳), the circle Hua (滑县), the circle Qi (淇县) and Qinyang (沁阳). Wey was 254 BC by Wei (魏) extinguished and became his vassal. 209 BC it was conquered by Qin.
