Song (state)

The State Song (宋Chinese, Pinyin Song, Sung W.-G. ) was a small state in the Central Region of North China in the Western Zhou Dynasty, the time of the Spring and Autumn Annals and the time of the Warring States. Its capital was Shangqiu (商丘).

It was founded in the 11th century BC, after the Duke of Zhou (周公) had suppressed the rebellion of Wu Geng (武庚).

286 BC song by Qin was annexed.

The poet philosopher Zhuangzi and his friend, the logician Hui Shi, came from here.
