Comments on individual songs

Hello

Hello begins with the same guitar riff as Wonderwall. The image is initially relatively low and is therefore hardly noticed by many listeners. The line " It's good to be back ," which is taken from the song Hello, Hello, I'm Back Again by Gary Glitter, is alluded to as guitar riff towards the end of the song in the album version and supported by a gentle effect vocals in live appearances, however, this text line occurs mostly in the form of singing in the foreground.

Wonderwall

The song was written on the original interpretation by Noel Gallagher for his then girlfriend Meg Matthews. After their separation Noel denied a relationship and pointed to the media that the piece had misinterpreted. The title Wonderwall comes from the album of the same name published in 1968 George Harrison, which in turn is the soundtrack to the little-known film Wonderwall.

Is by fans of the band and music critics, speaking of the perfect rock song or the best British song of all time in connection with Wonderwall again. The video for Wonderwall by Nigel Dick received the 1996 BRIT Award for Best British Video.

Just seven weeks after the release landed an easy listening cover of Mike Flowers Pops # 2 in the British charts. In 2002, Wonderwall was covered by Ryan Adams, who was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Solo rock vocal performance. The version of Ryan Adams came through the American series OC California wide attention, since it was used for a key point of Season 1. Noel Gallagher liked this cover so much that he played at several live concerts. Other interpretations of the song can be found on Paul Anka's Rock Swings album from 2005, as well as Radiohead, Cat Power and the Beastie Boys.
