Wilhelm Schraml

Wilhelm Schraml ( born June 26, 1935 in Heritage Village ) is a retired bishop of Passau.

Life

He was born as the second of three sons and visited the Old Gymnasium in Regensburg and the Episcopal Knabenseminarstraße Obermünster. The high school he put 1956 at the study seminar in St. Augustine willows. As an alumnus of the Regensburg seminary priest, he studied at the Philosophical- Theological University of Regensburg. He is a full member of the K.St.V Agilolfia in CT.

On June 29, 1961 he was ordained a priest. Subsequently, he was a chaplain in Falkenstein and moved in 1962 after Kirchenthumbach. In 1963 he returned to Falkenstein. In 1966 he moved to Regensburg in the parish of St. Konrad. In 1970, Schraml was appointed Vicar and assumed the duties of deputy diocesan president of the Kolping family. A year later he became diocesan president of the Kolping family. 1983 was admitted to the Regensburg Cathedral Chapter.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on January 7, 1986 Titular Bishop of Munatiana and auxiliary bishop in Regensburg. Diocesan Bishop Manfred Müller donated to him on 8 March 1986 in Regensburg Dominican church episcopal ordination. Co-consecrators were the Auxiliary Bishops Vincent Guggenberger from Regensburg and Martin Wiesend from Bamberg.

In 1986, Schraml was appointed Episcopal Vicar for charitable works. He was chairman of the Caritas Association for the Diocese of Regensburg and chairman of the Catholic Youth Welfare of the diocese of Regensburg. He was also secretary for liturgy and church music and chairman of the School of Church Music Regensburg Foundation, as well as responsible for the Unit marriage and the family as Regional Dean for the Seelsorgsregion Landshut.

Pope John Paul II has appointed Auxiliary Bishop Schraml on 13 December 2001 to the Diocesan Bishop of Passau. The official inauguration took place on 23 February 2002. Episcopal Coat of Arms
