Wilkowo, ElblÄ…g County

Wilkowo ( German Wolf village level ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. It is located in the powiat Elblaski (Kreis Elbing ) and belongs to the rural community Milejewo ( Trunz ).

Geographical location

Wilkowo located nine kilometers east of the current and former county town of Elbląg ( Elbing ) to the southeast of Wysoczyzna Elbląska ( Elbląg height, also: Trunzer mountains). In the village the expressway S 22 of Elbląsk after Grzechotki ( Rehfeld ) to continue the journey to Russia as well as the DW 509 Elbląg take over Młynary ( Mühlhausen) by Orneta ( Wormditt ) each other, also ends here a secondary road that Wilkowo with 7 road at Komorowo Żuławskie ( comber village ) and Przezmark ( Prussian Mark ) connects. A rail connection does not exist.

History

The 1945 Wolf Village Height ( in 1785 before Wolf 's house on the height, prior to 1905 Wolf Village height ) above town was founded in the years 1296-1299.

Between 1874 and 1945 he belonged to the district of Pomehrendorf (now Polish: Pomorska Wies ) in the district of Elbing in the district of Gdansk ( 1920 Regierungsbezirk Marie Werder, 1922-1939 Regierungsbezirk West Prussia, 1939-1945 Regierungsbezirk Danzig) in the Prussian province of West Prussia ( 1922-1939 Province East Prussia, 1939-1945 Danzig- West Prussia ).

In 1910 310 residents were registered in Wolf village level. Their number dropped to 1933 to 279 in 1939 and amounted to 286

As a result of the Second World War came Wolf village level to Poland and received the Polish name " Wilkowo ". Today Wilkowo is a village within the rural community Milejewo ( Trunz ) in the powiat Elblaski in the Warmia and Mazury ( Elbląg Voivodeship 1975-1998 ).

Church

By 1945 Wolf Village height in the Protestant parish Pomehrendorf was (now Polish: Pomorska Wies ) and belonged to the parish church circle Elbing in the ecclesiastical province of West Prussia ( 1922-1945 Ecclesiastical Province of East Prussia ), the Church of the Old Prussian Union.

Today Wilkowo the Catholic parish in Pomorska Wies ( Pomehrendorf ) is assigned. It is located in the Dean's Office Południe Elbląg ( Elbing -south) in the Diocese of Elbląg of the Catholic Church in Poland. Here surviving Protestant church members now belong to the parish of Elbląg ( Elbing ) in the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland.
