Willibald Pahr

Willibald PAHR ( born June 5, 1930 in Vienna) is an Austrian politician, diplomat and lawyer. He was the successor of Erich Bielka -Karl good predecessor by Erwin Lanc, the eighth Secretary of the Second Republic.

Life

Willibald PAHR studied at the University of Vienna Law ( Dr. jur. ) And is a graduate of the European College in Bruges. 1952-1954 he was an assistant at the Institute for International Law and International Relations of the University of Vienna. Then he was from 1955-1976 a member of the Constitutional Service of the Federal Chancellery, from 1968 as Head of the International Department, and from 1973 as head of the Constitutional Service.

In 1976 he was appointed Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs. This office he held as a fourth party affiliation in a row until 1983 before it from 1983 to 1985 served as Austrian Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany ( the Federal Chancellery to Seconded to ). PAHR was thereafter from 1985-1989 Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization of the United Nations, before in 1990 he was seconded to the particular use of the Chancellor. Later he worked from 1991 to April 1995 as a special envoy for refugee and migration issues in the Federal Ministry of the Interior. PAHR went in April 1995 in retirement.

In addition, Willibald PAHR inter alia president was the Expertenkomites for Human Rights of the Council of Europe, President of the International Cambodia conference, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the International Center for Migration Policy Development, Vice President of the International Institute of Human Rights ( Institut René Cassin ), member of the Governor and the Executive Council of the European Cultural Foundation, elected by the General Assembly of the United Nations, Member of the International Committee on the Elimination of all Forms of Racial discrimination, members of the Independent Commission on International Humanitarian Affairs, President of the European Movement in Austria and Vice- President of the European Federalist Movement in Austria. Willibald PAHR is currently President of the Association Austria - Nordic countries and honorary president of the Austrian Society for Foreign Policy and the United Nations.
