Walter Breisky

Walter Breisky ( born July 8, 1871 in Bern, Switzerland, † September 25, 1944 in Klosterneuburg, Lower Austria by suicide ) was an Austrian civil servant and politician of the Christian Social Party of Austria (CS).

Life

Walter Breisky studied law and began his career in government service in 1895 as a concept official in the Lower Austrian governor's office. In 1905 he was secretary for the Protestant worship in the Ministry of Education, from 1907 he was in the press department of the Council of Ministers Presidium active. In 1919 he became Head of Section, 1920, he was entrusted with the office of the Secretary of State for the Interior and Education, from 1920 to 1922 with the Vice Chancellor and with the line of interior and Ministry of Education.

He served for one day, on 26 / 27 January 1922, when Chancellor and stood from 1923 to 1931 as President of the Federal Statistical Office before.
