Women's World Chess Championship 1937 (Stockholm olympiad)

The tournament for the World Chess Championship for women in 1937 was a few weeks after the duel between Vera Menchik and Sonja Graf the second title fight of the year 1937. Chess world champion Vera Menchik defended in the held in Stockholm during the Chess Olympiad 1937 14 - rundigen tournament in the Monrad system, a variant of the Swiss system, their title successfully by winning all the games. Youngest player was the 18 -year-old Latvian Milda Lauberte which was considered by its high ranking as a junior talent.
