History
The administrative community -border region was founded on December 1, 1991. On 1 July 1994 were Hilber village and on 1 July 1995 Endschütz and cowering in the management of a community. On 19 August 2010, the municipal council of Wünschendorf / Elster, decided by Decision 68/10, the accession to the administrative community -border region as of January 1, 2012. With its 2923 inhabitants Wünschendorf is the largest municipality of the administrative community. On February 8, 2013, the administrative community was renamed and moved the center of administration to Wünschendorf. Previously this was in Seelingstädt, where a branch of the administration persists. With the dissolution of the joint management Leubatal on 31 December 2013, the community Teichwitz VG joined. This was decided by the Thuringian law for voluntary reorganization circle, national communities in 2013.
