Geography

Geographical location

Braunichswalde belongs to Ronneburger agricultural and mining area and is located at Fox creek, a small tributary of the White Elster. The nearest towns are Berga / Elster (7 km southwest), Ronneburg (8 km north) and Crimmitschau (12 km east).

Neighboring communities

Adjacent communities are Gauern, Linda b. Weida, Rücker village and Seelingstädt district Greiz and the city Crimmitschau Saxon district Zwickau. The latter city borders only indirectly to the Location United Pillingsdorf the village Blank grove.

History

Braunichswalde was first mentioned in 1307 as "Villa Brunswick Forest". Until 1918, belonged to the Angersdorf Saxe-Altenburg and was since 1900 the District Office Ronneburg belonging. 1922, went to the county Gera. Population Development

1933 Braunichswalde 674 and birdsong 129 inhabitants. For the year 1939 there were 669 or 143 inhabitants. From 1995 to 2001 Braunichswalde could follow the general trend of population migration to rural areas and thus increase its number of inhabitants. A significant proportion of this was the re-definition of a residential estate ( land of the sun ) and the filling of existing vacant lots. In recent years, increasing again the rural exodus.

Policy

Parish council

In the election period 1994-1999 six seats were held ( 74.2 %) and one seat respectively of the FDP (13.6% ) and the PDS ( 12.2% ) of the CDU. In the election period 1999-2004 this seat ratio was 78.8 % for the CDU, retained 15.8% for the PDS and 5.4% for the FDP.

After the local elections of 27 June 2004, the council was made up as follows:

  • CDU - 6 seats ( 69.3 %)
  • The Left - 1 seat ( 11.5%)
  • FFWVeV - 1 seat ( 14.1% )

The FDP won 5.1% no seat in the municipal council.

After the municipal elections in 2009, all eight available seats by the CDU (99.5 %) were occupied. The turnout was 74.6 %.

Mayor

In the mayoral election in 2004 Heinz Klügel of the CDU received 57.1 % of votes, his rival candidate Mathias Kretzschmar (independent) 42.9 %. The re-election took place on 6 June 2010, 96.1 % of the votes with a turnout of 58.6 %.

Economy and infrastructure

Traffic

Through the district birdsong the road L leads 1081 of Ronneburg to Werdau. The municipality has two bus stops, which are weekdays from regional transport Gera ( RVG) and operated by the private bus operators Piehler over the lines 212 Gera - Friedmann village and 213 Gera - Werdau -Zwickau.
