Geography
Geographical location
Linda is located in Ronneburger agricultural and mining area. The municipal area is predominantly used for agriculture, only in the south are smaller forest areas and a water tank, which drains to the fox creek back and forth to the White Elster. On the northern edge of the community Wipse, the springs near the municipal boundary in stops blinking and opens at Gera - Liebschwitz in the magpie runs. History
The first mention of Linda took place in 1307 in a document of the monastery Cronschwitz. In April 1640, Swedish troops burned ten houses, in 1865 there was a cholera epidemic. Until 1918 the village belonged to Saxony -Altenburg and was since 1900 the District Office Ronneburg belonging. 1922, went to the county Gera. 1952 belonged to the circle Schmölln Linda briefly, but walked in the same year to the county Gera country.

Parish council
1994 were awarded to the CDU in the council every six seats, six seats in 1999 went to the CDU and two seats to the SG Linda. The elections of 2004 provided for a total of another six to be awarded four seats for the CDU ( 50.9 %), one for the SG Linda (16.7% ) and one for the fire department ( 32.4 %).

Mayor
The 1994 mayoral election won Adele Stephen of the CDU with 81.5 % of the valid votes. In the runoff election on June 27, 1999, she was defeated Rainer Merkel, who received 68.0 % of votes.
