Yang Young-ja

Yang Young -ja ( born July 6, 1964 in Jeollabuk- do, South Korea ) is a South Korean table tennis player. In the 1980s, it was Asia champion, world champion and Olympic champion in doubles.

Career

Yang Young -ja achieved its greatest success in doubles, in which they took as a rule with Hyun Jung -hwa. She took part in the World Championships in 1983, 1985 and 1987. In 1983, she lost the final of the single Chinese Cao Yanhua, with the South Korean team was fifth. Two years later, the South Korean team took bronze. In 1987 she won a medal in all competitions: Single she won silver behind He Zhili from China, in mixed with Ahn Jae- hyung, she won bronze with the team they finished second and the double with Hyun Jung -hwa became world champion.
