Yaroslavl Motor Plant

The Yaroslavl Automobile Plant ( jaaz ) (Russian Ярославский автомобильный завод ) is a former vehicle manufacturers of the Soviet Union, the first passenger car and ended up producing trucks. After delivery of the vehicle production at KrAZ end of the 1950s it went completely over to build engines. Today in Jamz ( Yaroslavl Engine Plant ) is renamed to brand GAZ Group.

History

In 1916, the company was founded. Operates as a stock company, was adjusted under license automobiles by the English manufacturer Crossley Motors. By 1925, he had specialized in the production of trucks, their payloads were in the range of between three and seven tons. In this area, the company remained active until 1942. From 1943, due to the war was converted to the production of artillery unit, but which was already completed in 1947. Subsequently, the development of the truck jaaz -200, which was produced as a MAZ -200 in Minski Awtomobilny Sawod from 1951,. Beginning in 1948, developed and manufactured to the truck jaaz -210 until its production was relocated in 1959 to KrAZ.

In 1947 we began to manufacture diesel engines. Of importance, the models jaaz -204 ( four-cylinder ) and jaaz -206 ( six-cylinder ), which were installed in various Soviet truck for a long time were. In 1961 the production of two-stroke engines was switched to four-stroke engines.

In 1971 the company was merged with at least four other companies, which occurred from this time under the name " Awtodiesel ". This association has been the market leader for diesel engines within the Soviet Union. Jaaz -210

The jaaz - 210 1951-1959 produced in an edition of 10,852 copies had the jaaz -206 6- cylinder two- stroke diesel engine.

Jaaz -214

In 1951, four-wheel truck type jaaz -214 was manufactured. He distinguished himself against the jaaz -210 primarily by increased off-road capability. In 1959 the production was finally relocated to Krementschuk the prototype was built further than KrAZ -214.

Jaaz -218

Jaaz -219, -221 and -222

Originally built on the chassis of jaaz - 210 jaaz - 219 has nevertheless engine and cab of the jaaz - 214. Developed by jaaz, he was exclusively manufactured in KrAZ under the name KrAZ -219. Under the number -221 tractor for heavy trailer was developed jaaz -222 referred to as the execution as a dumper. These trucks were no longer in jaaz in the series, but were manufactured at KrAZ.
