Yurihonjo (Japanese由 利 本 荘 市, - shi) is a city located in Akita Prefecture on Honshu, the main island of Japan.
Geography
Yurihonjo is located south of Akita and north of Sakata on the Japan Sea.
History
The city Yurihonjo was on 22 March 2005 from the merger of the city Honjō (本 荘 市, -shi), as well as the communities Yajima (矢 岛 町, machi ), Iwaki (岩 城 町, machi ), Yuri (由 利 町, - machi ), Nishime (西 目 町, machi ), Chokai (鸟 海 町, machi ), Higashiyuri (东 由 利 町, machi ) and Ouchi (大 内 町, machi ) of the district Yuri founded.
