Žďár (Písek District)

Zdar ( German Schdiar ) is a municipality with 237 inhabitants in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers north of Protivín on Žďárský Potok in 374 m asl and belongs to the Okres Pisek. The community area is 3100.3 ha

Geography

The place is located in the broad valley of the Blanice and its tributaries. To the east lie the hills of the Písecké hory ( Pisek Mountains), the Vysoký Kamýk ( 627 m ) with its observation tower is located five kilometers away.

Neighboring towns are in the north Tálín, northeast Paseky and Nuzov, in the southeast and southwest Zdarske Chalupy Myšenec. West of the village leads the European Route 49 over.

History

The town of Zdar existed since the 13th century. In the southern part of the village is a stone with the Bohemian lion and the year 1282, which is a sign that the village was only the king dutiable. 1460 the village was first mentioned.

After the abolition of patrimonial Zdar formed in 1850 a part of the community Myšenec in Pisek District Commission and the Court of District Vodňany. On September 29, 1881, triggered by Zdar Myšenec off and formed its own municipality, at the same time, the place in the judicial district of Pisek was referred .. In the gravel pit was found in 1929 a tomb from the time of Celtic settlement with 23 urns.
