Zlatko Grgić

Zlatko Grgic ( born June 21, 1931 in Zagreb, † October 4, 1988 in Toronto ) was a Yugoslav animator and film director.

Life

Grgic studied at the University of Zagreb in journalism and law, but abandoned his studies. He first worked as a cartoonist for various newspapers and magazines and came in 1956 to the animation department of the studio Zagreb Film. As an animator, he was involved, among others, films by Nikola Kostelac ( Premijera, Susret u snu ) and Dušan Vukotić. As a director, he created in 1967 the television series Profesor Baltazar and as of 1971 the series Maxi Cat. In 1970 he went for a few months at the National Film Board of Canada, where he animated the movie Hot Stuff on the development of fire and electricity and turned. With Bob Godfrey 1979 he created the satirical short animated film Dream Doll, of an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Short Film was awarded in 1980. Grgic died 1988.
