Zulia FC

Zulia Fútbol Club is a Venezuelan football club from Maracaibo. The club was founded in 2005 and plays its home matches at the Estadio José Encarnación Romero, which seats 42,000 spectators. Zulia FC has never Venezuelan football champion and currently plays in La Liga, the top division in Venezuela.

History

Zulia FC was founded on January 16, 2005 in Maracaibo, the capital of the Venezuelan state of Zulia in the northwest of the country near the border with Colombia. From the Venezuelan Football Federation, the association was classified in fourth-rate Tercera División, you already won in the first season. After promotion to the third division for the 2006/ 07 one was even there the best team and managed just two years after the club was founded in the Segunda División the jump, the second- highest league in the Venezuelan football. Zulia FC was able to continue in the second division his series of ascents and after a first place in the second division 2007/08 season, the club qualified for the first time for the first class Primera División. In the Torneo Apertura the club could again make positive headlines when one of just six points, finished in fourth place on master Deportivo Italia. The Clausura then was not quite as good and was completed with the eighth rank, which resulted in fifth place for Zulia FC in the final table. The following season was almost equally successful for the young club. In the Apertura Zulia reached the eighth place in the Clausura fifth place. Across the table, this resulted in a good sixth place, where you missed the second time in a row to participate in the Copa Sudamericana by only a few points. In the season 2010/11 but then went downhill for Zulia FC. A tenth place in the Apertura followed a disappointing fifteenth place in the Clausura and now you are fighting against relegation.
