Aragua FC

Aragua Fútbol Club is a Venezuelan football club from Maracay. The club was founded in 2002 and plays its home games at the Estadio Olímpico Hermanos Ghersi Páez from, which seats 14,000 spectators. Aragua FC has never Venezuelan football champion and currently plays in La Liga, the top division in Venezuela.

History

Aragua FC was founded on 20 August 2002 and from División Venezuelan Football Federation in the Segunda, the second Venezuelan Football League classified. After two seasons in the second highest league the club succeeded in the 2004/05 season the first-time promotion to the Primera División Venezolana, from which it is not relegated to again today. It has currently in the middle of the Primera División fixed in the last season (2009 /10) has been reached, an eleventh place in the entire table, while FC Caracas in a final match against Deportivo Táchira FC won the championship.

The biggest success in club history celebrated Aragua FC in the 2007 season, as you could the national cup competition to win the Copa Venezuela. Unión Atlético Maracaibo in the final was beaten under application of the away goals rule after the first leg in Maracay had gone 0-0 and Aragua FC reached a 2-2 in the second leg. By the Cup victory Aragua FC was qualified for the Copa Sudamericana 2008. In the second round, for they were automatically qualified, you failed already in the Mexican representative Deportivo Guadalajara, which reached the semifinals in the further course of the tournament, and only there to eventual winners SC Internacional of Porto Alegre failed.
