1991–92 Soviet League season

The 1991/92 season the league Wysschaja was the 46th and final season of the highest Soviet league. In part, this season is also known as the first and only season of the Commonwealth of Independent States Hockey Championship ( CIS) (Russian Чемпионат СНГ по хоккею с шайбой ), since the Soviet Union dissolved in the course of the season and the game operation was continued by the Commonwealth of Independent States. The champion of the CIS was secured by HK Dynamo Moscow.

Main Round

Mode

The 16 teams in the league Wysschaja first played in 30 regular season games against each other. During the first eight teams qualified for the second round, the playing time for the other eight teams was over. In the second round, the eight teams played in two groups of four teams each. In return game in each case the two group winners qualified for the play- offs, while the other four teams competing in placing matches against each other. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
