Albussac

Albussac ( Albuçac in Occitan ) is a commune with 692 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Corrèze, in the Limousin region. The municipality is a member of the Association of Municipalities Pays d' Argentat. The inhabitants call themselves Albussacois (it).

Geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central and is surrounded by fields and vast forests. The prefecture of the department of Tulle is good 20 km north-west and slightly Argentat 10 km to the southeast. The Roanne, a tributary of the Correze, originates in the municipal area.

Neighboring communities of Albussac are Lagarde Enval in the north, Forgès in the Northeast, Saint- Chamant in the east, Neuville and Ménoire in the south, the west and Beynat Sainte- Fortunade in the northwest.

  • The waterfalls of Murel ( Cascades de Murel ), three consecutive waterfalls Franche Valeine which opens on the Souvigne in the Dordogne.
  • Roche de Vic is an old Celtic settlement which dominates the region. Today, with a viewing platform and orientation point
  • The church of Saint - Martin, a religious building from the 12th and 17th century, is classified as a monument historique since 26 January 1927.
