Clarence Derwent Awards
The Clarence Derwent Awards are a theater award. You are performed annually in the United States on Broadway by the Actors' Equity Association ( AEA) and the United Kingdom issued by the performers union Equity in the West End.
Clarence Derwent was born in London. He was a theater director and entrepreneur. From 1946 to 1952 he was president of the America's Actors' Equity.
In his will he wrote out two awards for promising full actors in order to promote individual services. The fee was initially on Broadway $ 500 for the best male and female actors and 100 pounds in the West End theater. He wanted to see how these prizes will be awarded, as the first U.S. Prize in 1945 and the first UK- Price in 1948 was awarded. Derwent died in 1959.
The price includes in the 2000s for the U.S. $ 2,000 and an engraved crystal trophy.
