David Munson

David Munson ( born May 19, 1884 in Medina, New York, † September 17, 1953 in Antwerp ) was a U.S. track and field athlete.

In the Summer Olympics 1904 in St. Louis An incoming for the New York Athletic Club Munson won the gold medal in the team run over four miles. On the same day he was fourth in the 1500 -meter run. He also took part in the steeplechase, but is not its result known. 1904 and 1905 he won at the American College Championships in the mile race. In 1905 he scored at Madison Square Garden a world record over 1.5 miles.

Munson studied at Cornell University and the New York Law School. After his graduation in 1909 he worked as a lawyer in New York, Rochester and Chicago.
