Louis Scott (athlete)

Louis Scott ( Henry Louis Scott, born November 16, 1891 in Paterson, New Jersey, † unknown) was an American long-distance runner.

In 1911 he was U.S. champion in the road race over ten miles, and on May 26, 1912, he presented at Celtic Park in New York City with 15:06,4 min a U.S. record over 5000 m.

At the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912, he was over 5000 m in seventh and gave over 10,000 m. Also in the team race over 3000 meters, it did not reach the goal, but as the other members of the victorious U.S. team was still awarded a gold medal. In cross country, he finished 24th place in the individual standings. Since only two U.S. athletes finished the race, the U.S. team was not scored.
