Sameli Tala

Sameli Tala (actually Samuel Rafael Tala; born August 16, 1893 in Jalasjärvi; † January 6, 1961 ibid ) was a Finnish long-distance runner.

In the team race over 3000 meters of the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924, he came in 13th place finish and was fourth best Finn. Although only the top three results of a team counted and thus its result did not matter, he was like the other members of the winning Finnish team won the gold medal.

1917, 1918 and 1923, he was Finnish champion in the 5000 meters.
