The atoll Faraulep or Faraulap lies to the east of the State of Yap, the Federated States of Micronesia, and thus belongs to the archipelago of the Caroline Islands in the Pacific Ocean.

Geography

Faraulep located 116 km to the southwest of the island Gaferut and 695 east-southeast of the main island of Yap. The atoll has an almost square ground plan, with side lengths of 3 to 4 km, and a total area of 7 km ². The wide Riffranz encloses a small, deep lagoon, which has an opening only in the southwest. The atoll has three islands, with a total of more than 40 acres:
